This website is managed by the non-profit Foundation of the Hellenic World (FHW). Its contents are the property of the Foundation of the Hellenic World.

This Policy describes how we process Personal Data, which we collect as part of our activities within the framework of applicable legislation.

From which sources do we collect your Personal Data

Personal Data is provided to us directly by data subjects (you, natural persons) or by third parties. We collect various categories of Personal Data either from data subjects, such as applicants who apply for registration as members, for participation in our activities, or other inquiries related to our actions, or from other natural persons (parents, guardians, educators) with whom we cooperate.

This Policy complements and forms an integral part of any policies in force, as they are adjusted to our specific relationships with you.

Before providing us with Personal Data concerning a third natural person, you must:

  1. inform that person about the content of this Policy and any other relevant policies and, where applicable,

Who is the data controller of your Personal Data

The data controller of your Personal Data is the "Foundation of the Hellenic World" (hereinafter referred to as "FHW," "we," "us"), based in Tavros, at 254 Piraeus Street and maintains a Museum and Cultural Center in Tavros, at 254 Piraeus Street, under the name "Hellenic Cosmos."

For what purposes do we use your Personal Data

We collect your personal data only when you wish:

a) to receive our newsletter by completing the electronic form available on our website. In this case, we only ask for your email address,

b) to contact us by phone, fax, or email with FHW, and in order to serve the purpose of communication, personal data are provided, which are retained as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of your communication.

Also, during your visit and navigation on this website, the internet protocol address is automatically recorded, but identifiable elements of the user's identity are not disclosed through it; instead, it is used solely for statistical purposes of visits to our online presentation. In addition, cookies are collected, the processing of which you consent to upon entering.

What are the legal bases for processing your Personal Data

According to the applicable legislation for the protection of personal data, the processing of Personal Data is carried out, as appropriate, on the following legal bases:

a) Your consent to the processing of your Personal Data constitutes a legal basis for their processing (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

b) For the processing of Personal Data for the purpose of concluding or executing a contract with you, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

c) If the processing of your Personal Data is required to comply with our legal obligations (e.g., for data retention), FHW has the authority to act accordingly under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.

d) Additionally, we process Personal Data for the exercise of our legitimate interests as well as the legitimate interests of third parties according to Article 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR.

Social Media Platforms

FHW has pages on social media platforms such as FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM, PINTEREST, and YOUTUBE, where no processing of personal data is carried out. There is the possibility of contacting the administrators of each FHW page by sending a message. In case the administrator of the respective page receives messages containing personal data of individuals, these are strictly confidential, and their use serves exclusively the purpose of communication with the Foundation and after fulfilling the purpose for which they were collected, they are deleted. FHW does not exercise and cannot exercise influence and control regarding the nature and extent of personal data collected and maintained by social media platforms as a term or result of their use and bears no responsibility for the collection and processing of personal data carried out by them. For more information regarding the purposes of collection and further processing and use of personal data by social media platforms, as well as for your rights and available settings for the protection of your privacy and personal data, please refer to the privacy policy of the respective social media platform.

Data Concerning Children

Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) are considered "children". We understand and respect the importance of protecting the privacy of children. We may process personal data of children only if we have first obtained the consent and/or authorization of their parents or legal guardians or as otherwise required or permitted by law.

With Whom We Share Your Personal Data

The personal data of visitors and users of our website are not disclosed to third parties. They are processed only by authorized FHW staff members for the purpose of communication with you.

1. Right to Information

You have the right to access your Personal Data (if we process them) as well as other specific information (similar to that provided in this "Notice"). Thus, you can be aware of and verify if we process your Personal Data in accordance with data protection legislation.

3. Right to Rectification

You have the right to request the rectification of your Personal Data if they are inaccurate or incomplete.

4. Right to Erasure

You have the right, also known as the "right to be forgotten", to request the erasure or removal of your Personal Data when there is no compelling reason for their continued processing. FHW may have the right or obligation to retain the information if it has a particular legal obligation to do so or has another valid legal reason to retain it.

You have the right, in certain cases, to "block" or restrict the further use of your information. When processing is restricted, we may still store your information, but we are not allowed to process it further. We maintain lists of individuals who have requested their Personal Data to be "blocked" to ensure that the restriction is applied in the future.

You have the right to obtain a copy of certain Personal Data we hold about you and to reuse or share it for your own purposes.

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, unless there are compelling and legitimate reasons for the processing which override your interests, rights, and freedoms.

How long do we retain your Personal Data

We retain your Personal Data for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy for a maximum period of 26 months, unless deletion is requested by the data subject, or if there are legal requirements that oblige us to keep them for a different period of time.
