The Gods of Olympus Organize Their Own "Olympiad"
The alternative summer camp of the "Hellenic Cosmos", "Summer in the City", returns for yet another summer, offering creative activities, entertainment, and lots and lots of play throughout the summer!
The Foundation of the Hellenic World (IME), with over twenty years of experience in educational programs, is implementing once again this year the highly successful and beloved by children summer educational program "Summer in the City", for four ten-day periods.
First Period: 17/6-28/6
Second Period: 01/7-12/7
Third Period: 15/7-26/7
Fourth Period: 26/8-06/9
It is aimed at children aged 5-12 and is designed by the experienced Museum Education Department of IME. It is implemented in the well-equipped facilities of the "Hellenic Cosmos" and will creatively engage the children who stay in Athens after the schools close.
For ten whole days, from early morning until afternoon, children will have the opportunity to participate in educational activities and games that make up a multi-thematic educational program: exhibitions, screenings in the "Tholos", the Virtual Reality Theater of the "Hellenic Cosmos" Cultural Center, crafts, physical games, and many other activities, depending on their age. Also, meals (breakfast and lunch) are provided, combining all food groups in a balanced way with meals that are enjoyable for children. 
Daily schedule:
08:00 - 09:00: Arrival at the "Hellenic Cosmos"
09:00 - 10:30: Organized activity program in groups
10:30 - 11:00: Morning snack
11:00 - 13:30: Organized activity program in groups
13:30 - 14:00: Lunch
14:00 - 15:00: Organized activity program in groups
15:00 - 16:45: Afternoon zone (optional)
16:45 - 17:00: Departure

The Gods of Olympus Organize Their Own "Olympiad"
The famous Twelve Gods strike again and take action! No more storms and conspiracies, quarrels, and disagreements among them. The Gods of Olympus join forces and decide to organize their own "Olympiad" full of contests of knowledge, taste, art, music, and sports. Where else? Of course, at the "Hellenic Cosmos"! They invite and challenge us to take part in this "Divine" event, which will happen for the first time in world history. Let no one miss it!
Theater Workshop:
A program specially designed for our little friends. Get ready for theater games! Here, we will have holidays and dives into the big pool of imagination! Together, we will have fun, play, and come into contact with the magical world of theater! Through a series of games, we will strengthen skills such as teamwork and trust, and we will learn about improvisation and storytelling! We will create characters, get to know our bodies, our voices, and enhance our imagination!
The theater game helps the child:
- improve their communication with friends, family, etc.
- learn how to coexist and be a member of a group.
- adapt easily to various social situations.
- express themselves physically and psychologically.
- gain new experiences.
- be calm and peaceful.
- share various issues that concern them and cannot express in words.
- become sensitive to more issues by "entering" different roles.
Workshop Leader, actor Konstantinos Tsoubaris
Konstantinos was born, raised, and studied in Thessaloniki at the Drama School of Vasilis Diamantopoulos. For the past 7 years, he has been performing in theater, in plays such as "Les Misérables" by V. Hugo and "Oliver Twist" by C. Dickens, directed by Konstantina Nikolaidis, and you may have heard his voice in Scooby-Doo, in the role of Shaggy or in other dubbings! At the same time, he teaches theater games and theater education in various creative activity centers and performs with his groups!
Sports Games
Together, we will exercise, relax, and play, with the main purpose of children loving exercise through play.
Sports Games offer children many benefits and help them:
- improve their physical condition.
- develop their social skills, such as communication, teamwork, and cooperation through team games.
- boost their self-confidence.
- have fun, enjoy, and have an energetic summer.
Workshop Leader, coach Dimitris Giovanelis
Dimitris Giovanellis, a graduate of the Coaching School of Classical Sports and Football, with extensive experience in professional and amateur sports as both an athlete and a coach, comes to transfer his positive energy, enthusiasm, and love for sports to the young friends of "Hellenic Cosmos".

- Yes, registration for participation is necessary and a prerequisite for enrollment.
- How can I make a reservation?

- Is it possible for my child to participate for just one week of the ten-day period?
- Participation is only possible for the entire ten-day period.
- Is it possible to participate for the entire duration of the program, i.e., the four ten-day periods?
- Yes, by re-registering at the end of each ten-day period.
- Is there a sibling discount?
- Yes, there is a 10% discount for siblings.
- Can children outside the age range (5-12 years old) participate?
- For the quality assurance of the program, only children within the age range can participate.
- What should my child bring?
- Comfortable clothes, a hat, and sunscreen are required.
- How do I inform the organizers about my child's food allergies?
- All information should be included in the registration form.
- Will there be specialized personnel?
- Yes, experienced educators and specialized personnel will supervise and implement the program.
