GODS OF OLYMPUS

The largest mythological themed exhibition ever

comes to Athens!

- A journey to ancient Greece -

Opening:

Friday, September 23, 2022

On Friday, September 23, Olympus "moves" to the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre, "opens" its doors, and invites young and old to admire the grandeur of Greek mythology and its legendary Twelve Olympian gods.

How did the almighty Zeus govern gods and humans? Why did the goddess Demeter have to bid farewell to her daughter once a year? How did the other gods view the warlike Ares? What strange thing happened at the birth of the goddess Athena?

In ancient Greek myths - loved and traveled beyond Greece's borders, influencing the religion, life, and worldview of many peoples - the Twelve Olympian gods play a leading role with their rituals, passions, loves, and conflicts. These are the focus of the major mythological themed exhibition "Gods of Olympus" that is also coming to Athens.

In a vast 1,800 sqm space, technology meets myth: imposing exhibits, wall mapping, guided tours, escape rooms, holograms, and interactive acts dress the lives and experiences of the 12 Olympian gods and reveal known and unknown aspects of their characters.

The aim of this exhibition? To understand the deeper symbolism hidden in these myths, as well as ancient Greek knowledge and wisdom.

The scientific supervision of the exhibition belongs to the distinguished historian Thanos Veremis.

Renowned Greek actors lend their voices to the Twelve Olympian gods: Zeus (Aimilios Heilakis), Hera (Maria Solomou), Demeter (Dafni Lamprogianni), Athena (Katerina Lechou), Aphrodite (Maria Nafpliotou), Apollo (Vladimiros Kyriakidis), Artemis (Nadia Boule), Hermes (Thanasis Viskadourakis), Ares (Nikos Vourliotis), Poseidon (Giannis Stankoglou), Hestia (Athina Maximu) and Hephaestus (Dimitris Piatas).
