Development
The Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre is continuously evolving. New spaces and activities are being developed, so that the 16 acres it started with in 1998 are gradually being transformed into a 60-acre cultural center where history, technology, and architecture converge.
- 1998: The «Hellenic Cosmos» was inaugurated with the exhibition on national anniversaries and historical memory, which gave a new dimension to the way we approach the past.
- 2006: The Tholos, the hemispherical Virtual Reality theater, begins operation, presenting the digital collections of the Foundation of the Hellenic World (FHW).
- 2008: The Theatron opens its doors to the public, a multipurpose space aiming to house contemporary artistic creation and expression.

The «Hellenic Cosmos», the Cultural Centre of FHW, is a state-of-the-art Cultural Center and Museum known for its high-quality pioneering programs and productions. The infrastructures of the «Hellenic Cosmos» are accessible to People with Disabilities (PWD). It features specially designed elevators, parking spaces, and restrooms.
All activities of the «Hellenic Cosmos», from the screenings and interactive tours presented in the Tholos, to the exhibitions, research and educational programs, and performances held at the Theatron, aim to highlight and preserve Greek history and culture.
With the aid of the most modern technology, the journey through Greek history becomes an immersive experience! Modern audiovisual and interactive media, such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, offer a new way to disseminate historical information. The audience can actively participate, question, intervene, and shape the course of events.
