On the occasion of the 90 years (1929-2019) since the inauguration of the significant construction works of the Dam and the artificial Lake of Marathon, EYDAP is exhibiting artifacts from its Historical Archive for the first time, presenting unpublished material. The Anniversary Exhibition "The Great Challenge" on the history of the Marathon Dam is being held at the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre (Pireos 254, Tavros), from November 12, 2019, to March 29, 2020.
The exhibition includes:
- Photographic material (in print and digital presentation).
- Architectural Drawings and Maps (in print and digital presentation).
- Documentary evidence (Contracts, letters, and other official documents, books).
- Objects such as construction tools and daily life items from the Marathon Dam in the late 1920s.
- A 3D reconstruction of the construction of the Marathon Dam.
- A short film from the era with footage from the phases of the Marathon Dam construction site. The footage was originally shot using silent film techniques, has been edited for the purpose of the exhibition, and has been sound-enhanced.
