The Foundation of the Hellenic World presents the virtual tour of the exhibition featuring the outstanding works selected by the Jury Committee as part of FHW's Panhellenic Art Competition titled: "Discovering the History of the Greek Revolution that Lives Near Me!", on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the National Rebirth. Through a multitude of wonderful creations, the Competition's Jury Committee selected the winners, by age category, as well as the works that stood out to participate in the exhibition. Students of all educational levels from all over Greece, as well as adults, participated in the Competition, which FHW announced from March 25, 2021, to May 25, 2021, and depicted through their creations the familiar local history of the area where they live and the well-known or unknown protagonists, through the place names that bear their names or through the monuments they encounter daily.
The artistic works of the Competition had as their thematic starting point visual and narrative elements from local history and the heroes who acted or are immortalized today, through a monument or a place name in the area of each contestant.
The messages of memory, tangible knowledge, and artistic documentation that arrived from all over Greece amid the pandemic make us particularly happy, while it is a great joy that through this website the public can access all the wonderful works exhibited at the «Hellenic Cosmos» Cultural Centre, rewarding the students' efforts.
With the belief that actions like this help us realize that history is around us and that it took many different local struggles and sacrifices, many known and unknown local aspects, many different fragments of it, to lead the Nation to Freedom, we wholeheartedly congratulate those who were awarded and those who stood out and warmly thank all participants for this precious mental historical tour around Greece.
