This event has ended
On Wednesday 15th of May 2008 a meeting was organized at Hellenic Cosmos entitled "Management of Digital Content: Possibilities and Perspectives". The meeting dealt with the examination of the opportunities provided by the information science and digital technology, generally regarding the management of content and more specifically of historical and cultural content, as well as the methodological adaptations that are necessary for the utilization of information tools in the best possible way.
The event was co-organized by the implementation groups of three research and development projects, in which FHW participates:
- HW: Encyclopedia of the Hellenic World

Those that attended the event participated actively in the proceedings and the discussion that followed. Mr. Dimitris Efraimoglou, the Managing Director of the Foundation of the Hellenic World, addressed the event.
- The project "EHW: Encyclopedia of the Hellenic World" is co-funded in a percentage of 80% by the European Regional Development Fund and in a percentage of 20% by state resources, in the framework of the Operational Programme "Information Society" of the 3rd Community Support Framework.
- The project "Diachoron: Management of spatiotemporal and semantic data for the documentation of historical information" was co-funded by the participating institutions and by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, in the framework of the programme "Joint ventures of research and technological development in areas of national priority" of Measure 1.2 of the Operational Programme of Attica: "Funding of Research Schemata (Collaboration, Corporate Collaborations or Companies").
- The project "MetaOn - Ontology Driven Metadata Construction and Management for Intelligent Search in Text and Image Collection" was co-funded by the participating institutions and by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology, in the framework of the programme "Processing of Images, Sound and Language" of Measure 3.3 "Research and Technological Development for the Information Society".
